PTA - HAFS

HAFS (Herne Association of Families and Staff)

We are a group of interested parents and staff who organise social and fundraising events to provide extra money for equipment and school trips. Our current fundraising focus is to provide more facilities outside for the children.

We would love to hear your comments, suggestions and feedback regarding anything to do with HAFS

We are always looking for new people to come and help at our events, to provide ideas, or carry out small tasks for us.  If you can provide any help at all, however large or small, then please contact us.

If you are able to help in any way, please email admin@hernejunior.com

Thank you.

Roz Orchard (Co-Chair)

Roz has a son, Finley, in Year 3 and her younger son is due to start the infants in September. She has worked with schools and within education for over 15 years and is really excited to be part of HAFS to support Herne in providing the best possible resources for the school as well as holding lots of fun, family events!

Becky Higgs (Co-Chair)

Becky’s son has just joined the school in year 3 in Ash class and her daughter is currently in year 1 at the infant school. From a background of teaching, she has been helping out with the Infant School for the last few years and wanted to get more involved at Herne. She is looking forward to planning lots more events at the school this year!

Laura Barnes (Secretary)

Laura is a teacher by profession but her most important job is taking care of her family. She has three very lovely children and two of her daughters are at Herne. She is very organised and writes everything down, mainly in lists – who doesn’t love a list? Laura is super-excited to take on the role of secretary and to be more involved in supporting the school in any way she can.

Gillian Young (Secretary)

Gillian has a son in Fir Class and a daughter due to start the infants in September. She is looking forward to supporting HAFS committee members with secretarial/admin duties; as well as bringing some organisational and party decorating skills!
